I am still adjusting to working from home. I find myself easily distracted and any attempt at a schedule is thrown out the window by 9:00am. I talk to the dog more than I should (but even he gets bored with me and sleeps for most of the day). I’m still finding my balance in my days and some days, it’s just not there.

What I have found, however, is a love of being able to take a break, whenever I need. I’m good at burning myself out and usually Monday and Tuesday have me tackling projects and emails like a champ but come Wednesday, I need a time-out.

For two hours, I pack a snack/book and take off to the market in downtown. It’s the perfect place to get a bit of fresh air, people watch, and relax outside of work. It’s my mid-week break that leaves me feeling like I can tackle the rest of the week. (I have a feeling during the winter Wednesday are going to become my, “take off for the mountain and go snowboarding” day!)

If you are ever in Sacramento on a Wednesday, I recommend checking out the Chavez Park farmers’ market. The outer circle is all produce while the inner circle is full of restaurant carts. It’s a great way to escape for an hour or two during the week.
