If I were being honest, popcorn may be one of my favorite things to make.

I know, it sounds silly, but it’s fantastic that all popcorn needs is some hot oil to make one tasty snack. I also love when I accidentally load the pot with too many kernels (I always think in my head- those won’t make too much popcorn) and then it becomes a scene out of a comedy where the lid pops off and popcorn pops everywhere (yes, this has happened).

I also love the sweet/salty combination on popcorn.  I first encountered the idea when Melissa’s (the Fauxmartha) made her honey/sea salt combination. The honey and sea salt made for the perfect mix.  Then I saw Alison’s combination of maple with sea salt and all I could think of was, “yes- I want this now.”

So, I made a giant bowl and I couldn’t stop snacking! I love the honey version but I think the maple version, especially in the fall, is my favorite!

Oh my, YES. Can I just say I have made that honey butter sea salted popcorn SO MANY TIMES since I first found it, and every time I do, whomever I give it to flips out. This is next on my list!

Yes, hooray for popcorn! We definitely rely on it for quick snacks at our house too. I haven’t made a sweet popcorn in a while–thanks for this great idea!
