Before I give you the photos, I wanted to tell you a bit about these students.  The college where I teach has a “Garden House” in which seven students live.  These students grow, can, and eat off the rather large garden in their backyard.  Instead of sleeping in until noon on Saturdays, these students get up early and tend to their garden.  Yesterday I went a took a few photos while they were weeding the asparagus patch and transplanting garlic.  Afterwards, we had a “seminar” in which I taught them how to make pasta from scratch.

I wish I had this experience when I was in college. Erin, these guys are lucky to have you as a mentor. :)

I agree, this is awesome! I love this idea, and wish I would have cared to do something like this in college. What great students you have! ;) And your pasta-making session looks so fun.

That sounds like a great time! I wish there was a living situation like this at my college, but I guess now that I’m nearly finished I can just make my own garden wherever it is I decide to move to!

    Garden house, how lovely!

I wish there were more of these “Garden Houses” in the world. Young people need more dirt in their lives, and to realize what real food really is. Looks like a great time.
