In Illinois, our produce season runs usually from early May to late October.  Unless that is you have greenhouses and then you get stuff in March.  The regular season for the csa starts in May but we got a sneak taste of what’s to come and also, I spent about five hours helping assemble the second greenhouse.  Holy Crap, I’m exhausted!

And my take away:

Totally worth five hours of labor for some fresh lettuce, spinach, kale, swiss chard, and some green garlic! (not that I had to work for it but it tasted better!)

Good job Ella! How I wish I can be so close to fresh produce. The bunch of romaine lettuce I got from the market this past weekend was not the best I have ever bought….
