Hi.

It’s Sunday, it’s raining and as of 4:00pm, I’m still in my p.j.’s and I’m completely alright with that.

These chips are part of the “bad foods attempting to be healthier” part of this blog because essentially, all there is is potatoes, butter, and salt-the end.

Instructions:

Pre-heat oven to 500˚.  Take a russet potato (lower water content), slice it to 1/8″ thick (using a knife or mandolin-I recommend the mandolin for even slices.)  Brush with melted butter and place on buttered sheet tray.  Bake for 15-20 minutes or until crisp (if you use a knife to cut, you may have to remove some and let others continue to bake if your potatoes weren’t even.)

Remove, sprinkle with salt, and eat.  Play around with other seasonings to get many great flavors!

Oh goodness, these look divine. I’m a huge fan of sweet potato fries…so I might try these but with sweet potatoes…hopefully they turn out like yours! Thanks for the post. :)

Sounds like a healthier version of the “real” thing, to me! Plus, it’s vegetables, right?! Right.

They’re in the oven! Other than making the kitchen smell like potatoes, I’m really excited for my family to get home and try them with different sauces! The only problem I had was cutting with my serated knife, it slipped alot and I have band aids all over my hands. Hopefully it will be worth it, though!

ummm… It’s me again. Just heard the bell ring, and excited I ran to see how they turned out. They were black. My baking sheet was burned. I only had them in for 17 minutes… Why?

Glad I sliced another potatoe in case. I’ll throw that in for a little less. Maybe around 5?

I’m guessing maybe they were sliced too thin? Other than that, my only other thought would be position of the baking tray? Hope this helps!
