This is (was) my pantry as of this morning. My kitchen has a strange window box/room type thing that turned into my pantry (not very well as you can see.) Over the past year I have tried and tried to figure out how to organize it and most of the time I would succeed for a week. Never failure though, my pantry would always go back to looking like this.
I then figured out the culprit. I buy a lot of my pantry items from bulk bins. So I have these annoying plastic bags floating all over my kitchen. I hate loathe those bags with a passion.
Then, while I was out at Kmart this morning, I saw these on sale. From there, I went on an organizing binge of my pantry:
However, I bought Kmart out of what they had (this was a clearance item, so not much.) I couldn’t stop though- I still have bags upon bags left in my pantry. Enter in the mason jar. Easy, cheap, different size, and glass.
Plus, I was able to get gallon mason jars (meant for storage, not canning) that hold my flour perfectly. So, I now have a bookshelf full of ingredients. Moreover, the jars look so nice that the shelf looks like a decoration- I love it!
I used pint, quart and gallon size mason jars- such a great deal!
