Hiking day number two went much better thanks to a better adjustment to the altitude and packing more water.
Today’s hike started off near Copper Mountain Ski Resort and ended up at about 11,000 feet. The total trail was about 6 miles round trip with a 1300 feet elevation gain. This doesn’t seem that much until you start hiking and realize that this trail is pretty much a steady up-hill the whole time. I guess when you think about it, 1300 feet up would be about the length of four football fields- that’s a lot!
The end of the trail was two gorgeous lakes with even more gorgeous views of the surrounding area.
All in all a pretty good hike!
